Search for the Cleanest Coastal Barangay

Awarding of winners for the Search for the Cleanest Coastal Barangay in Bauan held Sept. 18, 2023 at Bauan Municipal Hall Lobby, participated by 9 barangays : Aplaya, Sto. Domingo, New Danglayan, San Andres Proper, San Andres 1, San Roque, San Miguel, Sta. Maria and San Pedro.

For two weeks, a community-wide clean up drive was conducted in each coastal barangays. As part of the contest criteria, videos documenting their advocacy campaign were submitted to Municipal Information Office, the same were uploaded to Bauan MIO Page.

Barangay Aplaya was hailed as Champion, while Barangays Sto. Domingo and New Danglayan were 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively. Cash prizes and plaques of recognition were given to winners and all participating barangays.

Vice Mayor Ronald Cruzat and Hon. Leon Ramos Jr., gave their inspiring messages while Hon. Romel Basilan and Hon. Michael Endaya graced the ceremony. Municipal Health Officer Dr. Wiston Ilagan, Dr. Louvelle Floro (Rural Health Physician), MHO staff & project facilitators, and officials & functionaries from participating barangays were also present. Ma’am Jhanice O. Cantos, HEPO Provincial Coordinator, was the Resource Speaker.

“The Search for Cleanest Coastal Barangay in Bauan” is an initiative of LGU Bauan thru MHO engaging coastal barangays for a clean up drive to promote environmental health to the community.
