Bauan is a 1st class municipality situated in the southern part of Batangas province. It has a total land area of 6,667.6860 hectares. Strategically situated for its accessibility to modern road network and distinct coastlines, it is one of the most industrialized town in CALABARZON.
It belongs to the 2nd congressional district of Batangas and composed of 40 barangays distributed into the three (3) homogenous ecological units: Lowland Barangays, Upland Barangays and Coastal Barangays. As of 2015 it has a population of 91,297. The people of Bauan are engaged in trading, handicraft activities, industries, fishing, agriculture, poultry, swine and large cattle raising.
Bauan has all the facilities which one would expect from a town. There is an adequate supply of electricity and well-developed water system. It has also access to full range of telecommunication services. Existing tourism facilities and services are most appealing both to local and foreign guest.
