Collaborative meeting between Bureau of Fire Protection Batangas Provincial Office and LGU Bauan

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Batangas Provincial Office conducted a collaborative meeting with LGU Bauan on the proposed enhancement of fire hydrants in the municipality last September 16, 2024, at the Bauan Municipal Training Hall.

The discussion centered on the mandate of RA 9514, also known as “Fire Codes of the Philippines of 2008”, stating therein that the Local Government Units (LGUs) in collaboration with the BFP are tasked with providing each community with essential firefighting infrastructure, including fire hydrants and water reservoir.

FSSUPT Dennis Molo, Provincial Fire Marshall, explained the role of the BFP and stakeholders in ensuring the availability of sufficient water resources in the community especially during fire incidents. Thus, there is an imperative need for our LGU to enhance fire hydrants infrastructures in our localities through the assistance of the local water concessionaire, Aquadata.

Strategic places in several Barangays were identified for the proposed constructions and reactivation of hydrants. These include areas in Brgys. San Andres I, Sto. Domingo, New Danglayan, Manghinao I, Poblacion IV, Poblacion I, and Aplaya.

Mayor Ryanh Dolor together with concerned municipal department heads, barangay officials & representatives, and Aquadata management staff were present while Bauan BFP headed by FCINSP Emily Oculam and her staff facilitated the said meeting.
